Personalisation & Engraving

Every collar and every set we make carries a solid antique brass nameplate. We engrave it for you, free, before it ships.

What you can put on it

• One line — up to 14 characters. Usually the name.
• Two lines — up to 14 characters each. Usually the name and a phone number.
• Letters, numbers, spaces, full stops, hyphens and the & sign.

How it is done

Deep-engraved into solid brass with a rotary cutter, not laser-etched onto a coating. The letters are cut into the metal, so they will still be legible after a decade of hedges, rivers and rolling in things.

We set it in a classic serif at the largest size the plate allows. Shorter text sets larger; a name on its own is always the most legible from a distance.

What we would put on it

A phone number is worth more than an address. If your dog is found, the person who found them wants to ring someone, not post a letter. Many owners leave the name off entirely so a stranger cannot call the dog away.
